MENTAL HEALTH & PHYSICAL EXERCISE

Image
  Happy New Year! I know I haven’t posted in ages and my last post was about Human Nature almost a year ago. But times have been crazy during this and the past year, though in a good sense. Ok, this article is about mental health, about being happy and sane and learning to keep yourself calm and in peace no matter what. Before you start reading this, I have to say that this is all about my own personal experience and it doesn’t mean that everyone works the same way. I can speak only for myself through this and only say how I have personally been helped. Most people who have known me through the years think I’m popular for walking about 5-6 miles a day in total. As a matter of fact, I’m not into busses and I can’t drive, therefore walking seems the best option for me to reach my destination, especially when it’s rather close to home. My favourite walks, though, have always been to places close to nature and the forest. During summer 2020, I stayed at my cottage house for almost four...

HUMAN :||: NATURE

Image
Hello, once again. Today, I'm going to do something COMPLETELY different. I'm not going to write exactly about the impact that a work of art had on me. But instead I'm going to write a review about an album, which was released in April 2020. And what I'm writing about is Nightwish's ninth studio album, Human :||: Nature. Well, you can pronounce it as you like. I pronounce it simply "Human Nature" and Tuomas Holopainen pronounced it "Human Dot Nature Dot". What do those symbols mean? Well, this is a mystery to the fans, although Holopainen has said there is indeed a meaning to them, but let's keep it a mystery. My own guess, though, is that it has something to do with music notation. In music the symbol " :|| " means repetition of the passage, so who knows? This is nothing, but my own guess and by no means does it mean that I found the meaning behind these symbols. So, here we go. Human Nature starts with a song called Music. Th...

THEATRE OF TRAGEDY

  [This story comes from a dream of mine. The name is taken by a Norwegian metal band]. She wakes up in the morning and grabs one of Baudelaire's poem collections. Oh how, she loved his Poetry; all this Romantic terror mixed with corruption and morality issues. Sometimes, she, herself as a Poet, felt she wanted to have lived in 19th century France. She would have loved that. She would find a great inspiration for her art. As she delves more into Baudelaire's Poetry, she hears a loud sound, probably from the kitchen. Still in her pyjamas, she walks out of her room, holding an axe. She shakes in terror, as she doesn't know who could have broken into her house and yet, she can't think of herself getting into violence and smashing someone's head with an axe. She enters the kitchen and finds a girl, having breakfast at the table. When the girl sees her, holding an axe, she steps back and says in an exotic accent: "Easy, easy, girl! I'm not armed". "Who...

INGRID

Hey there! I know that the blog has currently been too inactive. I didn't decide to call it quits, but the main reason why I was off, is due to my lack of inspiration. During the past few years, I went through a major change, due to my growing older and also because I learnt more things. My interests have changed, so this means that I don't feel like writing Romantic-based stories and Poems anymore. BUT this doesn't mean that I will stop writing for good. Nor does this mean that I'm no Cinema Soul anymore. This means that my stories draw much inspiration from nowadays society, writing the others' diary and not my own (trying to see through the other people's pain) and of course sci-fi stuff. I decided to part ways with fantasy stories, though I love reading them. And the reason why I did this, was because I think that nothing but the real world can be better narrated. On the other hand, I adore sci-fi stories, (e.g.Stephen King), because they do have a setting ...

TRAVEL HEART

It seems it was long ago When I saw a butterfly Then I had a wish My wish to see the world To fly away like this butterfly Close to my eternal world I wanted to spread my wings And search for the unknown To look to every corner And play with every word I hoped to find my solace Through my journey I spend long hours in my solitude Still playing with words and origins And although I repeat the past Rhapsody and the Port won't help me I'll stay in the darkness Or holding a pen Out in the harsh air Listening to Secrets I hoped to be helped My only relief Through words and music But I won't get back the feelings The Old Rhapsody feelings That are still in my memory Ol' hospital sixteen Then I had the scenes The scenes are still here But the feelings are gone The time has passed I have changed I don't feel the same I long for the White Angel And the Endless Quest Only if I could go back And live those moments again My Soul Dreame...

MOSTLY AUTUMN

Image
Mostly Autumn is a progressive folk rock band from Yorkshire, formed in the 90s. I discovered them by accident, because I read somewhere that Troy Donockley (mainly piper of Nightwish, but also multi-instrumentalist) has collaborated with them. As I'd read in Wikipedia that Mostly Autumn was inspired mainly by Genesis, Camel and Pink Floyd, I'd expected to listen to a rich sophisticated sound with complex melodies, full of Mellotron and Hammond Organ, complex beats and in general a sound resembling the "golden era of rock". But I failed! And good job I did. I would lie if I said if that the first Mostly Autumn song I heard an original one by them. It was early April 2018 and I was alone at home. I was in Facebook at that time, reading posts in Nightwish World Community (a Nightwish fan club, which I am a member in). During that time Tuomas Holopainen, Johanna Kurkela and Troy Donockley had released an album with their newly-formed band, Auri. (Yes, the name is...
